Overview
embly is a local-first file organiser. Your files stay on your device. We do not upload, store, or sell your personal files or their contents. This policy describes the limited data we collect to operate the product and improve it.
Data we collect
We collect your email address when you join the waitlist or create an account. We collect anonymised usage metrics (feature interactions, error logs) to understand how the product is used. We do not collect file contents, file names, or any data processed by the local embedding engine.
Local processing
All file ingestion, classification, and embedding runs on your device. No file content leaves your machine. Semantic search queries are resolved against a local vector index — there is no cloud round-trip.
Third-party services
We use Cloudflare for DNS and DDoS protection. Waitlist signups are stored in our own database. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
Data retention
Waitlist email addresses are held until you ask us to remove them. Anonymised usage metrics are aggregated and retained for up to 12 months. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold. To exercise these rights, email us at contact@embly.ink. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
